vCard is a standard file format for electronic business cards. When a phone scans a vCard QR code, it offers to save the contact to the address book.

Which fields are required?

Only a first or last name is required. All other fields are optional but recommended for a complete contact entry.

Does this work on all phones?

Yes. Both iOS and Android natively support vCard QR codes and will prompt to add the contact.

Is there a data limit?

QR codes can hold about 4,000 characters. For typical contact info, this is plenty. Avoid adding very long URLs or notes.
